Lot C-91, 2017

Winery:

Heitz Cellar

"Wow. Such a racy and exciting nose! This is quite agile and nimble, full of red and blue berries in the forefront, then complemented by spiced orange, earl grey, red plums, potpourri, savory plums and chocolate. Tense and elegant on the palate, which is all about succulent red berries, nuance and texture. Nothing redundant here. A great Napa cabernet sauvignon that has real definition. A beauty by all accounts! Drink or hold." James Suckling

Fun Facts:

C-91 was originally a one-off cuvee created by Joe Heitz in 1969. It was largely forgotten until after his death, when at a wine tasting dinner, a bottle was opened and it was decided that they had to re-create this bottle. After locating Joe's notes and a few extra bottles in the cellar, this special cuvee was resurrected. Heitz Cellar is certified CCOF organic as of 2022 and engages in biodynamic practices.
