This time of year is especially hard for small businesses in Newton as everyone seems to be going away now that camps are over and school is just about to start up. While we love the fact that there is no traffic on the way into work, we also hate the fact that there's NO TRAFFIC, including foot traffic. Given that we want to catch you before you leave for the weekend, we are holding our "main event" before the weekend, starting 5-7pm this THURSDAY, when Tim from Italian Wine Traders/La Campania pours Italian wines paired with potato gnocchi pasta with wild mushrooms, parmigiano and a decadent whisper of truffle oil from La Campania (504 Main Street, Waltham MA 02452). If you haven't visited La Campania for dinner, you should definitely add them to your short list. La Campania isn’t just another Italian restaurant—it’s a quick way to instantly transport yourself to Tuscany and Naples via Main Street in Waltham. With house‑made pastas as the centerpiece, a legacy of family, and a dedication to artisan authenticity, it’s a place where Italian traditions run strong and the food will leave you wondering if it's appropriate to make another reservation on your way out. The wines Tim will be pouring to compliment the gnocchi are as follows:

Ippolito, Mare Chiaro "Ciro"

Tenuta Argentiera, Eco di Mare Vermentino

Il Molino di Grace, Il Volano

Jacopo Biondi Santi, Castello di Montepo
