Semuliki Forest cacao is grown in Bundibugyo, Uganda by 1,002 organic farmers in the region, over 50% of whom are women, and collected and exported by Latitude Trade Co. The cacao is then fermented for 5.5-6.5 days in a central facility in the village of Bumate, at the base of the hills leading into the mountains.
